The primary criteria for election are excellence in the domain and a proved record of continued accomplishment.
Academy members are world leaders in the arts and sciences.
They are based mostly across Asia and around the world.
The AASA elects members in eight (8) sections.
The election process starts with nominations rooted in a review process starting with the sections and then the entire membership.
The process contains of the following stages:
I. Call for Nominations
AASA members receive a call for nominations in an annual basis. Each candidate for membership must have two nominators who are already members.
II. Preliminary Appraisal
The Preliminary Appraisal involves the Senate`s members who made a suggestion in each section for election; the Senate`s members also make recommendations for International Honorary Members.
The Academy’s sections are responsible for reviewing and approving the slate of candidates recommended by the Senate for election. Results are announced in mid-May.
